CONTEMPORARY FIBER ART
INSPIRED BY NATURE

By intertwining traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design, I aim to create artworks that are inspired by the beauty and significance of natural elements and materials used in my textiles. My biggest source of inspiration is nature with all its beauty, richness and variety.

Through my creations, I seek to raise awareness about the importance of biodiversity, sustainability, and the cultural richness embedded in our heritage, fostering a deeper connection between art, nature, and the preservation of our textile design and skills.

Inspired by the rich tapestry of natural textures that surround us I combine these visions with natural materials and local sources of fiber and wool from my own flock of heritage-breed fine wool sheep and fiber farm. My aim is never to copy nature, but to feel the presence of the surroundings, where we live.

While studying in art college, I came familiar with traditional textile techniques. Over the last years I have specialized in felting. I live and work in a countryside, therefore I am influenced by the variety of colours, forms and seasons around me.

Over the years I have also been teaching a range of workshops and courses - mainly in different techniques of felting but also in other creative areas. My goal is to inspire people to be more creative by believing in learning new skills.

I have actively taken part in local and international exhibitions over the last years. My artworks have been  exhibited in Finland, France and the USA and on many online exhibitions.

I am a member of International Feltmakers Association, Finnish Felt association Filtti and Nordic Textile Art organisation.

From 2024 some of my textile wall hangings are represented by Singulart online gallery here
